In a nutshell

Looking after the technical, organising and supervising side of construction projects.

What you'd do

Set out civil engineering works on site from design drawings
Supervise earthworks, drainage and structural construction activities
Carry out quality control tests such as compaction and concrete testing
Produce and check engineering drawings and technical documents
Manage material deliveries and check conformity with specifications
Record daily site activities and maintain site diaries
Coordinate with engineers, clients and subcontractors on programme
