In a nutshell
Carrying out a range of tasks involving handling cargo, passengers or marine craft.
What you'd do
Operate port plant including forklifts, reach stackers, and cranes under supervision
Moor and unmoor vessels and handle lines on the quayside
Load, unload, and position cargo in terminal storage areas
Complete cargo documentation and enter data into port systems
Follow dangerous goods procedures when handling hazardous freight
Carry out equipment pre-use checks and report faults immediately
Work safely at height, near water, and in vehicle-heavy terminal areas
