What you'd actually do

As a radiography assistant, you help prepare patients for imaging procedures - X-rays, CT scans, MRIs - and help radiographers run the equipment. Your day involves talking to patients, setting up equipment, keeping everything clean and safe, and recording information accurately so doctors get the right scans for the right person. You need to be organised, calm with people who are worried or in pain, and careful about following safety rules - especially around radiation. You will work as part of a team with radiographers and doctors, and seeing those scans help save lives makes this work meaningful.
