Recycling Manager
What you'd actually do
As a Recycling Manager, you help turn waste into something useful. You work for local councils, waste companies, or charities, and you are in charge of making sure recycling systems work well - that people know what to put in recycling bins, that collected materials actually get reused, and that fewer things end up in landfill.
Your day-to-day work includes designing recycling programmes, checking the numbers to see if they are working, and talking to people - residents, shop owners, business managers - to get them on board. You might run training sessions to teach people the right way to recycle, visit schools, or meet with factories to see if they can use recycled materials. You need to be organised, good with data, and able to explain things clearly.
