About this course

Computer science at the University of Cambridge is taught in one of the world's pre-eminent research environments for the discipline, with roots extending to Alan Turing's theoretical work on computation in the 1930s and a continuous tradition of foundational research ever since. Computer science as a discipline is concerned with the principles of computation, the design of algorithms and data structures, the theory of programming languages and formal logic, the architecture of computing systems, and the application of these ideas to intelligent systems, networks, security, and human-computer interaction. It trains you to think with exceptional rigour about abstract structures and their concrete implementations, developing one of the most powerful intellectual toolkits available in any field.

This three-year, full-time programme at Cambridge engages you with the full depth and breadth of the discipline, from mathematical foundations and theoretical computer science to practical programming, systems design, and the frontiers of current research.
