At King's College London this five-year full-time BDS programme combines the very latest thinking in dental education with early clinical experience, situating students in a rich and diverse clinical environment from an early stage of their training. Graduates from King's dentistry programme enter the Foundation Dentist Programme, the year of supervised practice that all newly registered dentists in the UK complete before independent practice. From there, paths lead into general practice, hospital dentistry, community dental services, academic dentistry, and specialty training in areas such as oral surgery, orthodontics, periodontics, and restorative dentistry.
