About this course

Electronic and electrical engineering is the discipline that designs, builds and manages the systems through which electrical energy and electronic signals power modern life. From the power networks that light our homes to the control systems in electric vehicles, the sensors in smart infrastructure, the circuits in consumer electronics and the wireless networks that carry data across the world, electronic and electrical engineers are the people who make it all work. The discipline is at the centre of the energy transition, the rollout of smart infrastructure and the proliferation of connected devices.

At Leeds Beckett University this accredited part-time programme develops your ability to create intelligent, sustainable solutions for the connected world, with a curriculum that covers the electronics and systems behind energy networks, communications and smart infrastructure. You will design, test and refine technologies across a range of engineering domains, developing practical skills in circuit design, power systems, signal processing, embedded systems and control engineering. The programme includes a sandwich year, a year abroad and work placement opportunities, giving you professional and international experience alongside your academic development.
