Law is the formal system through which societies organise authority, protect rights, resolve disputes, and regulate behaviour across every domain, from commerce and contract to criminal justice and constitutional arrangements. Studying it at degree level develops both a thorough knowledge of legal rules, institutions, and doctrine and the rigorous analytical habit of mind that allows you to engage with legal problems precisely, to construct and evaluate arguments, and to read and interpret complex texts with care. These skills have value both within the legal profession and well beyond it.

At Loughborough University, this three-year full-time LLB provides essential legal knowledge and skills alongside the opportunity to focus on areas of personal interest and to think critically about law's role in society. You will study the core subjects of the English and Welsh legal system, including contract, tort, criminal law, constitutional and administrative law, equity and trusts, and property law, alongside modules that allow you to explore areas of law that particularly interest you.
