About this course

Mathematics and computer science together represent the two most fundamental disciplines underlying the digital world. Mathematics provides the rigorous logical and quantitative foundations on which all computing is built, from the theory of algorithms and complexity to the probability and statistics that underpin machine learning and data analysis. Computer science translates those foundations into practical systems, developing the software engineering, data structures, programming languages, and systems design that power modern technology.

At Birkbeck College this part-time programme is designed for students who wish to study at degree level alongside other commitments, with all teaching taking place in the evenings.
