About this course

Physics with computing is a combination that reflects the increasingly data-driven and computational nature of modern physics. Physics provides the fundamental framework for understanding matter, energy and the laws governing the universe, while computing gives you the tools to model complex systems, process large datasets, simulate physical phenomena and develop the software that modern scientific research depends on. The two disciplines reinforce each other: physics gives computing a powerful domain of application, and computing gives physics new methods and possibilities for investigation.

At the University of Bristol, this three-year programme includes a foundation year for students who benefit from additional preparation in mathematics and the sciences before the main degree begins.
