Quantity Surveying

Quantity surveying is the profession responsible for the financial management and commercial control of construction and infrastructure projects, from residential developments and commercial buildings to hospitals, schools, and major civil engineering works. Quantity surveyors, also known as cost managers or commercial managers, are involved at every stage of a project, from initial cost planning and procurement through to contract administration and final account settlement. This part-time programme at Sheffield Hallam University teaches you how to commercially manage and control construction projects to the highest possible standard. You will develop your knowledge of measurement and cost planning, contract administration, procurement, project management, and the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern construction.
