The Role & Expectations

As a Director in Consultancy Services, you run teams of consultants who help organizations solve difficult problems and make decisions. You meet clients, understand what they need, and work out a plan to help them. Your team then studies their business in detail and recommends changes that will make things better.

Your days involve talking to clients about their challenges, meeting with your team to plan the work, reviewing their research and ideas, and presenting recommendations to business leaders. You lead your team on each project, mentor junior consultants so they learn and improve, and make sure clients are happy with the work. You might work with different types of companies - shops, hospitals, banks, tech firms - and each one has different problems to solve.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage high-impact consultancy projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to foster collaboration and trust.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis and research to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for clients.
  • Guide and mentor junior consultants and team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations and reports to executive leadership and clients.
  • Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes to provide informed advice and strategies to clients.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including proposal writing and pitching to potential clients.
