Paramedic science is the clinical discipline that trains practitioners to respond to medical emergencies in pre-hospital environments, making rapid, high-stakes decisions about assessment, treatment, and care for patients in conditions that are often unpredictable and time-critical. Graduates are eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council as paramedics, which is required for practice in the UK.
